The Department of State has announced that applications for the 2011 Diversity Visa (DV) Lottery will be accepted between Friday, October 2, 2009, 12 pm noon Eastern Daylight Time and Monday, November 30, 2009, 12 pm noon Eastern Standard Time.

The applications must be made using the electronic Diversity Visa entry form, which is online at www.dvlottery.state.gov. Hard copy paper entries will not be accepted.

The agency recommends that applicants not wait until the last week of the registration period to enter, as past experience has shown that heavy demand may result in website delays toward the end of the application period.
